Welcome to the Island Dwarf Car Club!
Bruce Garside has offered one of his semis to transport up to 9 Dwarf cars to the Penticton AMCA Race on the May long weekend (May 20 – 21, 2017) for FREE.
If you are planning on entering the race, and are in need of a hauler to get you there, please reply to this email and we will pass this information on to Bruce. We need a minimum of 5 cars to commit to use the semi. It would be great to have a car count by the end of next week.
The Penticton AMCA is a great race weekend and has had a great showing of island Dwarf cars in past years.
We have set the following dates for tech. Note that the Victoria date is next Sunday.
Victoria – Sunday April 2nd, 2017 1:30 – 3:30 at Western Speedway in the main parking lot.
Nanaimo – Sunday April 9th, 2017 10:00 – 2:00 at Mac Truck – 2213 McCullough Road
Courtney – Sunday April 16th, 2017 – 10:00- 2:00 – location TBD.
** Please make sure that you bring your helmet as we will be weighing the cars with driver and helmet.
We are hoping that all cars go through tech prior to our first race on May 6th at Western Speedway.
We have also created an email account for the Club firstname.lastname@example.org for those that do not use FaceBook.
We offer an affordable form of racing to any and all Vancouver Island residents, whether you’re an experienced racer or someone trying it out for the first time. Most Saturday nights you can find us racing at either Western Speedway (in Victoria) or Saratoga Speedway (in Campbell River.)
Dwarf Cars are unlike any other form of racing. They are open wheeled, quick and twitchy little machines capable of running more than 100 mph (160 km/h) on the straightaways. Due to their small size, they are able to run three and four wide on a regular track which leads to some incredibly exciting racing, especially when you consider that their weight to horsepower ratio is greater than even a full sized late model stock car!
For anyone interested in getting involved (or even if you just have a question for us) please check out our Facebook page or come out to the track and talk to us in the pits after racing is finished!
